Getting Cusco

The city of cusco is a popular tourist destination in Peru, but in Cusco There are no direct international flights, and to reach there one needs to take connecting flights from Lima Jorge Chavez International Airport, the only international airport in Peru.

Cusco has two main train stations, connecting the city with Machu Picchu, Ollantaytambo, Puno and Arequipa.

There are also bus routes:
• From Cusco to Lima
• From Cusco to Arequipa
• From Cusco to Puno
• From Cusco to Puerto Maldonado in the Amazon basin.

By Train: Cusco has only two main train stations(Estación de San Pedro and Estación de Huanchaq), connecting it with Machu Picchu, Ollantaytambo, Arequipa, Puno and the Amazon jungle.

By Air: Cusco has an airport(Aeropuerto Internacional Velasco Astete), located to 15 minutes of the historic center of the city. Cusco has no direct international flights, and needs to take scale in Lima Jorge Chavez International Airport. All major Peruvian airlines operate flights to Cusco. Airlines offering flights to Cusco include AeroCondor, LanPeru, Taca Peru, TANS.
